  • I have had two ACL surgeries. In my first surgery, I did not have any pre-operative training. it was at least 5 months before I could be back to what I considered a normal work day. When I tore my ACL for the second time, I decided I needed something different. I found Luke Connell through a physician friend. I did pre-operative personal training with Luke and he was willing to work with my busy schedule. The surgery went very well and I was walking on the second day. Post-surgical training was easier than ever and my recovery time was very fast. Amazing! My recovery was faster than anticipated and I was much stronger, particularly in my quads. Luke did a consult with my surgeon to ensure I was not going to be doing things that would re-injure my knee. Since this was my second ACL surgery, I needed it to last and I needed my muscles to be stronger to support my knee. I've also consulted with Luke on diet and nutrition, also a big help. I like that he has not only his Bachelors Degree, but also his Masters Degree in Exercise Science. I wanted a certified trainer who knew what he was doing. I want to be done with knee surgeries. So glad my surgeon recommended him. Excellent reputation in the Main Line area. I also know that he has worked with many sports celebrities..

  • I have severe osteoarthritis in my knee. Three months ago, my orthopedic surgeon told me that injections would no longer help me and I needed knee replacement surgery. However, prior to surgery, I needed to lose weight. He said that for every pound I lose, it would be four pounds off my knee. That was enough to convince me to get into a weight loss program. Luke understood and knew my limitations. The goals for me were weight loss but also to strengthen my muscles and my core (sciatic pain as well). I have done well following Luke's nutrition guidance and workout program. I will be ready for surgery in another four months and will also work with Luke post operative. I've gone for physical therapy in the past and know that people can get lost working out. Having a one-on-one personal fitness trainer was a fantastic decision. I know I'm getting stronger and my stamina has improved greatly. I want to have as short a recovery time after knee replacement as possible. Luke has also been helpful in strengthening my core so I do not have the severe sciatic pain that I have been living with for 5 years.
